What type of books can I make through B&N Press?
B&N Press allows you to publish eBooks and print books. You can create paperbacks, and hardcovers either with a printed case or a dust jacket. We do not offer spiral binding, embossing, foil lettering, or leather covers. Interiors and covers can be printed in premium color, standard color or black & white. The minimum page count is 18 with a maximum of 800 pages.
Where will my books be sold?
B&N Press eBooks will be on sale at bn.com, the Barnes & Noble App, the Shop section of NOOK devices, and the Barnes & Noble NOOK App.
B&N Press Print projects will be on sale at bn.com and on the Barnes & Noble App. Publishing though B&N Press does not place your book in Barnes & Noble Bookstores.
Can I print books for personal use?
Yes, you can create and order books for your own personal use. If you select Personal Use for the project, it will not be displayed on bn.com. You may order as many copies as you would like. The cost would be just slightly higher than the cost of printing.
Can I publish my book on B&N Press if I’ve published it elsewhere?
Yes, B&N Press is non-exclusive. You may publish a project with us even if you have published it through another site. We do require that you provide a unique, never-used ISBN for publishing with B&N Press.
How much does it cost to publish with B&N Press?
There is no cost to use B&N Press platform. Author and Personal Use copies are priced just slightly above printing costs. We will pay you a royalty for each item sold. See our Payment Terms & Conditions.
Can I print Public Domain titles?
You must own all the rights to the text and images in your book if you intend to sell them. You can make your own book of a Public Domain title.
