During the Build-a-Book process, you will be asked to confirm if Generative AI was used in the creation of your project, including the cover/artwork, manuscript, images, and translations. If you used AI for any of these elements, you will then be asked if these were AI-Assisted or AI-Created.
AI-Assisted vs. AI-Created
AI-Created content is any content (text, artwork, translations) that is created using Generative AI. It would still be considered AI-Created if you used AI to generate the content and edit it afterward.
AI-Assisted content is any content you created, then used AI to edit it or expand on it.
Regardless of if your book has AI-Created or Assisted elements, any content you submit must follow the Barnes & Noble Press Content Policy, including ensuring that your project does not infringe on or violate intellectual property rights or copyright.
If you are not seeing the option to publish changes after uploading a new file, go to the Rights & Other Information tab under Book Details to complete the AI Disclosure, as this is required before a project can be published.
