To support our publishers' new and unique creations, Barnes & Noble Press has made the decision to not allow public domain items to be sold on our platform.
"Public domain" refers to a creative work (in our case, books) that is no longer protected by intellectual property laws, including copyright.
With this change, public domain titles that are posted to Barnes & Noble Press will be removed from sale. If you do not remove the items yourself, Barnes & Noble Press will remove them. Accounts that continue to post public domain items may be permanently closed.
If any of your books are incorrectly listed as Public Domain titles, you will not be able to change the Public Domain designation. If the project is already published, you will need to publish a copy under a new ISBN without the public domain designation.
