You need to be an active US vendor to receive Form 1099-MISC electronically.
2. What is the deadline for enrolling to receive a digital 1099?
The deadline to sign up for a digital 1099 is January 10th of the following year. The enrollment will be closed at that time and re-opened at the end of February to start enrolling for next year’s 1099.
3. When will my Form 1099-MISC be available for download?
You will receive an email or text message from viewmyforms.com when your Form 1099-MISC is ready to download. To opt in for an email or text message notification, log in to viewmyforms.com, click the "Edit my account" link in the top right, and check "Send email" and/or "Send text message"

We require that you use the same email address to log in to both viewmyforms.com and Barnes & Noble Press. However, viewmyforms.com is a third-party site, so you will have to create a new account on viewmyforms.com to log in. Your Barnes & Noble Press password is not synced to viewmyforms.com.

If you don't enroll to receive the statement electronically, a paper copy will be mailed to you.

Go to the Digital 1099 Tax Form section of your Profile page and click the "Opt Out of Digital Download" button.
7. Now that I’ve given consent to receive my form electronically, does this mean my tax form will be delivered this way every year from now on?
That is correct. You have given consent to receive your form electronically for the current tax year and for all future tax years unless you unenroll.
8. Why doesn't my form appear to be saving after I fill in all of my information?
To complete the registration on viewmyforms.com, you must:
- Complete all required fields
- Enter the Opt in code that appears in the bottom left of the page
- Change your password
9. What if my first or last name is shorter than 3 characters long?
If your first or last name is less than 3 characters, add a space for each required character.
10. What happens if I unenroll from the electronic version?
If you unenroll, we will automatically know to send you a paper copy for the same tax year when it's ready, and your Form 1099-MISC will not be available for download.
11. How can I obtain a paper copy of the most recent Form 1099-MISC if I unenroll from the electronic version?
If you unenroll, we will automatically know to send you a paper copy for the same tax year when it's ready. Paper copies are mailed the last week in January.
12. What do I need in order to view and print an electronic version of my Form 1099-MISC?
You can view your Form 1099-MISC with any software that can open a PDF file.
13. How long will my Form 1099-MISC be available on the viewmyforms.com website?
Per IRS regulations, your form will be available to you through October 15th of the year directly following the Tax Year shown on your form.
14. If I change my B&N Press email address, will I still be able to log in to viewmyforms.com to download my Form 1099-MISC?
Yes, you can change your B&N Press email, however, please note that the email on file as of January 10, 2024 is the email associated with viewmyforms.com. That specific email address must be used to create an account on viewmyforms.com for tax year 2023.
15. How much must I earn to receive a Form 1099-MISC?
You must earn and receive payment for a minimum of $10 in royalties to receive a Form 1099-MISC form.
