Prior to your title's publication date, you will see your pre-orders under the Pre-Order Report on your Barnes & Noble Press Sales Reporting page. On publication day, all associated pre-orders will convert to sales that will display on your Sales report. However, your Pre-Order report for that title will be available for review.
Customers are not charged when they pre-order your title - instead, they will be charged on the title's actual publication date. You will be paid royalties for pre-order sales as with any other eBook sale, 30 days after the end of the month of your title's sale.
Pre-orders will contribute to your sales rank for the day that the pre-order is placed. However, since customers are not charged until the book is delivered to them on the publication date, you will not be paid for the sale until 30 days from the end of the month that the pre-order was charged.
For example, if your title has a June 1st publication date:
Pre-order Sales Date | Reflects in Monthly Sales Report | Payment Cycle |
---|---|---|
Before June 1st | June | July |
